Details

RedFlag Products is proud to offer a comprehensive line of Uniseal fittings, which have come to be relied upon across the water management, agriculture, aquaculture, irrigation, and hydroponics industries due to their high durability and supreme ease of installation. Made from high-quality Alcryn rubber – renowned for its flexibility, durability, and chemical-resistance properties – Uniseal fittings are great for easing tricky pipe-to-tank installations in environments where durability and flexibility are required.

This fitting was designed to solve many of the issues of pipe to tank connections. For many industries, pipe-to-tank seals are traditionally among the most complex connections to manufacture. Traditional bulkhead assemblies require multiple parts such as rigid flanges, bolts, washers, O-rings, along with long assembly times and high production costs. Uniseals replace traditional plumbing hardware with a single injection molded unit requiring no component parts.

Additionally, Uniseal is unique in that it provides for TRUE through-wall plumbing, unlike traditional bulkhead assemblies which require the pipe’s length to be cut off precisely at the point of connection. This feature gives the user more flexibility with their installation, and does not require precise measuring and cutting of pipe: because the pipe simply needs to be inserted in order to form a seal, then as long as the pipe is long enough to make the connection, no further adjustment is required.

Alcryn rubber is used to make Uniseal products because it creates a tighter seal, can be processed faster, and is compatible with both water and oil based materials. It also has a coefficient of friction roughly three times greater than competing materials, which creates a better seal overall.

Uniseal’s greatest asset is their dramatically quicker and easier installation process: a hole is cut in the side of the tank, and then the rubbery black Uniseal is inserted. Next, a slippery detergent film (i.e. dish soap) is applied to the exterior of the pipe. The pipe is then pushed through the seal completing the installation. When the pipe is pushed through the rubber-like Uniseal from the outside, the Uniseal becomes thin enough to allow the pipe to slip through. With this simple design the Uniseal solves many complex problems, chiefly because it can be easily installed on both flat and curved surfaces.
