Details
PVC Butterfly Valves with Flanges & Bolts are a complete, commercial plumbing solution for corrosion resistant water and fluid handling applications. Suitable for higher pressure applications that demand easy-turn handles, long duration of use, and additional durability than that offered by other thermoplastic valves.
Designed with a full-body liner throughout the inner flow channel, our Thermoplastic Butterfly Valve keeps process media away from the valve body with a single, uninterrupted layer of protection. This design advantage ensures additional duration of use and a water tight seal between the portion of the EPDM liner that wraps up the valve body and the bolted flanges.
Our insistence upon using the highest quality raw materials ensures solid component parts, finished edges, and impact resistance above and beyond the competition. Our handle is significantly reinforced to prevent failure or breaking. A Squeeze-Release trigger and notched position indicator (Top of the valve) lock the handle into place, allowing for consistent flow rates.
Industries: Aquaponics, aquarium, commercial plumbing, drainage, fluid handling, fountain, graywater, industrial & scientific, irrigation, pond, pool, ranch, spa, sprinkler, water harvesting, water tank

Commonly Asked Questions
Q: Is this valve Schedule 40 or Schedule 80?
A: Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 are measures of wall thickness for PIPE and FITTINGS. Different Schedules means different wall thicknesses, pressure ratings, applications & usage, and color. These standards DO NOT APPLY to valves which have O-rings, seats, and other seals. Valves are rated for PRESSURE at a WORKING TEMPERATURE and in this case Red Flag Products valves meet or exceed the industry standard 150PSI @ 73° F and CAN be used with BOTH Schedule 40 (White) AND Schedule 80 (Gray) pipe.
Q: Which valve is most appropriate for my specific project? Light-Duty Compact Ball Valve, Standard Compact Ball Valve, Single or True Union Ball Valve, Butterfly Valve, or something else?
A: We are happy to assist you in making a decision when it comes to selecting between similar models of products. Selecting the correct parts is a crucial step in ensuring the success of your fluid handling system. General variables to consider are the following: Exposure to the elements, exposure to direct sunlight, duration of use, desired impact resistance, budget, durability, frequency of use, weight, required water flow, and integrity of system design.
Q: What do the different grades of Stainless Steel mean?
A: Stainless steel type 1.4301, also known as grade 304, is probably the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. It offers excellent corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments and when in contact with different corrosive media.
Grade 410 stainless steels are general-purpose martensitic stainless steels containing 11.5% chromium, which provide good corrosion resistance properties. It is generally used for applications involving mild corrosion, heat resistance and high strength.
Martensitic stainless steels (SUS410) are fabricated using techniques that require final heat treatment. These grades are less resistant to corrosion when compared to that of austenitic grades (SUS304). Their operating temperatures are often affected by their loss of strength at high temperatures, due to over-tempering and loss of ductility at sub-zero temperatures. Grade 304 is an austenitic grade that can be severely deep drawn. This property has resulted in 304 being the dominant grade used in applications like springs, nuts, bolts, and screws.
To summarize, most projects do not have requirements that surpass can surpass these rigorous standards. Should you have questions regarding suitability and product specifications please contact customer service.
Q: How easy or hard is it to turn your valve handles once they are installed and operational?
A: Red Flag Products has a long track record or precision manufacturing, high quality materials, and experienced technical engineers that ensure finely crafted products.
RedFlag Butterfly Valves offer a squeeze-release, locking handle that is easy to turn without any additional tools or excessive force. Ensure a smooth quarter-turn on/off that remains watertight and leak-free.
Q: My experience with other brands and manufacturers is that valve handles break necessitating repairs and additional construction costs, have your valves experienced this issue?
A: To improve duration and reduce maintenance costs Red Flag Products engineers have incorporated several advanced features into the manufacturing of our valves.
Strong and durable ABS resin is used in the manufacturing of our valve handles whereas other brands may use low quality or recycled material containing impurities and blemishes. Failure to ensure a sound manufacturing process is one of the key variables that causes premature handle failure to occur. All RedFlag Butterfly Valves now come with reinforced, fully replaceable handles that boast increased strength and added torque. In the rare event of a break the handle can quickly and easily be replaced.
We recommend the following additional steps to ensure duration of use: ONLY hand operation, no use of tools or wrenches. Valves exposed to direct sunlight should be painted in accordance with recommended industry standards to prevent UV damage from long-term use. Determine which valve is most appropriate for your installation, we offer a range of qualities and products including Heavy-Duty Compact Ball Valves, Standard Compact Ball Valves, Single Union Ball Valves, True Union Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves, and much more.
