Details

SoilGard® is a powerful biological fungicide that utilizes a naturally occurring beneficial fungus, Gliocladium virens strain GL-21, to protect crops from destructive soil-borne pathogens. This granular formulation establishes a protective barrier in the root zone, effectively controlling diseases such as Pythium, Rhizoctonia, and Fusarium that cause damping-off and root rot.

Ideal for both organic and conventional production systems, SoilGard® can be applied as a soil drench, through irrigation systems, or mixed directly into growing media. The product works by colonizing the root zone and outcompeting harmful pathogens, creating a healthier soil environment for optimal plant growth and establishment.

Key Benefits:

  • Proactive Disease Prevention: Establishes beneficial fungal colonies to protect against soil-borne pathogens before they infect plants.

  • Multiple Application Methods: Suitable for soil drench, drip irrigation, root dip, or direct soil incorporation.

  • Organic Certification: OMRI Listed and NOP approved for use in certified organic production.

  • Root Zone Protection: Specifically targets diseases that affect seed germination and root development.

  • Versatile Crop Use: Effective for vegetables, ornamentals, strawberries, turf, and greenhouse production.

SoilGard® provides essential protection during critical early growth stages, promoting stronger root systems and healthier plant development through advanced biological control.
